We are an inexperienced home and bought Noddy from Wilsons Auctions in July last year for my 6yo beginner (never had a lesson) daughter.
During this time he taught my 7yo beginner niece to ride off lead however, my 6yo beginner daughter is too nervous with him to go off lead so she needs something smaller and older as I do not have the time, horsey experience or knowledge to support them.
Noddy is very affectionate, loves people, easy to catch (comes the minute he sees you), feed, rug, float (standard float and truck), worm, teeth, is barefoot trimmed and has lovely ground manners.
He has never foundered and is a good doer in just a grass paddock.
Noddy is an amazing lead rein pony and will follow you absolutely anywhere. Even when not being led he will still follow you.
Off lead Noddy will adjust and can be forward if you want him too.
Has been handled by my 6yo daughter and 7yo niece at home.
As stated by the previous owner who owned Noddy for 4 years:
Noddy was started under saddle with a professional trainer as a 3year old
He had three years at Pony Club (with previous owner in Gipsland) doing Flat work, Games, Jumping and Cross-country also attending kids Camps and Clinics.
Noddy has participated in Stockhorse shows competing in the Junior events such as Hack, Working Time Trial, Barrel Racing, Polocross and some Ranch sorting with cattle.
He has been to Ag shows in lead rein and competed in Pinto and PB Welsh classes.
Noddy has been handled by the previous owners 9yo at PC, home and shows.
This is a sad sale that I have been avoiding for many months.
I feel he would ideally suit a loving lead rein/2nd ridden/confident child/experienced home to bring out the best in this beautiful boy. He is a gorgeous pony and looks stunning when in work.
Please message me (Carmen Kennett) if you wish to see further videos.
After owning Noddy for three weeks I organised for him to undergo further professional training to assist his flexion and responsiveness to steering. I received videos of the trainer and her 10yo daughter riding Noddy and after 6 days of work, he reared dismounting the trainer then bucked and ran to the opposite side of the arena. Instead of investigating/discussing the cause I was immediately told to remove Noddy from the property.
In the following days I discovered Noddy’s back was out, his teeth were beyond overdue and he had a severely ulcerated mouth. He was in a lot of pain and being forced to work in an extremely rounded frame (plus and adult rider) I believe this was the cause of Noddy’s behaviour as he has never displayed this with me and has since taught my 7yo niece to ride.
