DESCRIPTION (as provided by vendor)

Pinkie is a genuine quality Galloway.I have owned him for 5 and a half years and he has been a lot of fun. I bought him after loosing my confidence with a few complicated & difficult horses. As life has gotten busy with a young family, I have no time to ride and Pinkie has been a paddock ornament for the last 2 and a bit years. The time has come to find him a new home. He has a super soft mouth so will only be suited to a rider with nice soft light hands. While he is light and responsive, he is not forward or not lazy either. This makes him a beautiful ride in my opinion. He will happily walk trot and canter on a nice loose rein (which he seems to prefer,Or he will round up into a frame if you take up the contact. He has been beautifully educated and  gives a lovely feel. He is very sweet and has never bucked, reared, pigroot, bolted or displayed concerning behaviour in the time i have had him. He will require bringing back into work due to his significant time off. I can’t see this being difficult though. He is a fairly straightforward horse. He will however require patience and the chance to build trust with his new owner to bring him back slowly rather than someone who will just jump on. He has been to heaps of horsemanship clinics with me and this has been my focus with him. He would suit an intermediate rider with a bit of an interest/understanding of good horsemanship principles, someone who wants to ride around at home, gain confidence, trail ride etc. He would not suit a competition environment. He is super quite and easy at home, but gets stressed and anxious at shows or pressure environments. I have taken him to a few dressage days and shows and he can become very stressed at times with is not much fun for either of you. For someone not wanting to compete and have a lovely little horse to enjoy at home, then he would suit you perfectly. The downside is that he has cushings and requires daily medication (prescend)Unfortunately there is no way around this. He is very happy and healthy otherwise. It costs $25 per week approximately. The cushings can and has previously sparked lamanitic episodes (no significant change/damage to his feet though) so you will need to be mindful of this particularly around spring time with the grass intake and diet. If it is managed  there should be no issues. He is a good doer and has good feet. Currently barefoot and in healthy paddock condition. He is up to date with his teeth and worming.  Great traveller on float or truck and can be paddocked alone or with others.
Absolutely no separation anxiety issues. He will be sold with his rugs and bridle.
