LOT NUMBER: 26
HEIGHT: 16hh (MEASURED)
DESCRIPTION (as provided by vendor)
Nemo is built like Mac truck and currently lives off the smell of an oily rag, in fact he could do with losing a few kilos. He is a very solid boy in bone and body, he is not officially measured since 3.5 years old so would now be around 16-16.1 I would say.
He has not been in work for the last 12 months due to my work commitments but he had been starting to come back into work with being lunged a couple of times a week and has had around 5 odd rides spread out over the last 2 months, the video attached is of one of those rides. He is being sold as not in work though as it has been very sporadic. I have had a sudden change in my personal circumstances which now forces his sale. He is not for a beginner and no nervous nannies, if he thinks he can, he will try and bluff you, you just need to ride him forward and be confident. In spring he can get a bit fresh on the grass and I would suggest a lunge before he is ridden but he hasn't done anything nasty. With his previous owner he had done some beach rides, a couple of shows and small cross country jumps as well. He would suit pony club or trail riding/lower level dressage/Hunter classes. He did not race and in fact I was told he didn't even make it to a trial as he showed no talent at all on the track.
He is an absolute character in the paddock and will sniff out whatever you have in your pocket, he loves a pat and would love to be brushed all day. He is good to lead, excellent in a float (both angle and straight load) good with feet but is lazy holding up the back ones. Easy to worm and currently bare foot for the last 3 years but if he was in full work he would probably benefit from some front shoes. I have had him for 3 years and he has never had any soundness problems in that time.
He is registered EA and papers will be issued to the new buyer, please note his DOB is not correct on that which I only realized when I checked the papers doing this add, his height certificate shows his correct DOB. This could be verified by his ASB registration - AUS01094656.
Nemo has a small scar on his front cannon & small soft fluid lump on knee which has been checked by a vet and has not caused any issues in the 3 years I have owned him. He had it prior to me buying him and has never been lame in that even when he was in full work.
He is currently paddocked alone but in his prior home he was with several horses including ponies and foals.
