MILO - Thoroughbred Gelding
**ANDREW WILSON & CO ONLINE AUCTION NOVEMBER 19th-20th**
LOT NUMBER: 130
HEIGHT (Approx) 16.2
DESCRIPTION (as provided by vendor)Milo is a very easy going gelding who came of the track and was ridden by a beginner rider who competed in Dressage and Ag Shows. Milo is schooled up to Novice Level Dressage and had started some Elementary training with his original owner. He was competed extensively with her and has been used by myself since and my agistee clients when they had an injured horse. He is EA registered as Mr Adventure Time. Milo is very soft and responsive and does not need harsh aids and is willing to please. Milo has been cold backed I believe due to poor saddle fit from the last owner who he was sold onto after the first owner whom I know. If left for weeks he is best lunged to allow him to stretch and warm up and is absolutely fine in the two years I have owned him with us. In saying that in regular consistent work Milo is absolutely fine and is super quiet, however to ensure he has the right match and an honest and transparent sale I am disclosing this history due to my awareness of it.Since coming to us, we have been consistent with Milo's management of care and had everything done so he is up to date. He has had PEMF sessions, chiro, massage and his teeth done. He will be sent wormed and vaccinated with the 2 in 1 and is fully shod.Due to being worked on hard ground pre returning to this years comp he appeared foot sore as had been barefoot due to soft arena footing at home and his feet are in excellent condition. We have had zero issues with his feet which are healthy and strong and our farrier states his feet are excellent. In regards to the cold backed, he will let you know if the saddle fit is too tight on his back by feeling like he is tucking up, if you listen to him you will not have a problem and it is not an issue for us but one to be aware of.Milo has humped (3 small ones and stopped) after a small jump and therefore would be best suited to a dressage home for a confident teen who can just keep calm and encourage him on. I do not jump due to a chronic back injury and doing dressage training Milo has never put a foot wrong and is a pleasure to ride. His gaits are very comfortable and he has a trot that is easy to sit to and a rocking horse canter.Milo has had very nervous riders on him and beginner riders and has more whoa than go and adjusts for them and can be used with voice command.Milo returned to comp and was very quiet and performed as asked.Milo is a wind sucker and has great weight and I keep him in electrics and he is totally manageable. I do not use a collar and he holds his weight well. He suits a walk in out shelter paddock arrangement and electric offsets.Milo is like a big labrador and is a delight to own and work with. Due to my personal circumstances changing Milo and my horses are being sold to find fantastic homes and their new human to love on them and have a heap of fun.
